Ezra had his little buddy, Asher Hansgen, over the other day. Notice they're holding hands :) They're just 9 weeks apart and Asher is almost the same length. One day we'll laugh that they were the same size. I think Asher's gonna be tall just like his Daddy.

Things that have amused me this week:

Ezra's laugh. He has the cutest laugh and thinks everything I do is funny. He laughs when I dance in front of him...hmm, maybe he's more discerning than I realized.

The billboard on 85 for the Beef Jerky Outlet Store. I was quite shocked to see that a store selling dried meat could afford such an expensive advertising space. It's one of the electronic billboards too. Perhaps even more shocking is their claim to have over 50 varieties of jerky. Who knew?

The grown man riding his grocery cart through the parking lot. I was kind of jealous b/c he looked like he was really enjoying himself.

One of the "breaking news" items on foxnews.com today revealed that Angelina Jolie had stopped nursing her twins. I wonder if I'll make international headlines when I stop nursing Ezra?

I attached the toy bar to Ezra's bouncy seat for the first time yesterday, and he was SOOO excited so see those little toy faces smiling back at him. I must say he's the cutest boy in the world, and that's a totally objective opinion ;) I can't believe he's six weeks already!

Cool Card

My aunt Janice gave me the coolest card today at my shower. It pops up and looks like a nursery. And Heather made a corsage w/ tiny plastic baby toys attached....so of course, I had to put one of the baby toys in the crib. Perfect fit :) I'm not sure why, but it amused me to no end.

Pigs n Blankets

If someone had told me 8 months ago that I would start eating pork again, I would have laughed in their face. And yet this week alone, I've eaten sausage biscuits, blts, and pigs n blankets. I'll blame it on Ezra.

I had a pregnancy craving tonight at 9:00, and my sweet Richard went to the store to buy pigs n blankets for me. The whole family just enjoyed some...including Diamond. She's a happy dog right now and so am I.

Hmmm, wonder why I'm feeling so huge these days. I only have 4 more weeks of using the preggers excuse...

Getting Ready for Ezra

In an attempt to get ready for Ezra, we've been practicing with our new equipment. Diamond gets to fill in for the baby :) This photo was taken about 1 second before she jumped out of the stroller. She's not too happy about our antics, but they amuse us to no end.

Yes, this is perhaps the most clever baby gift I have received to date...for those of you w/out little ones, that's a burp cloth in the photo. It came to us all the way from Dallas. Thanks, Courtney! I LOVE it! :)

Big Day Out!

Here are just a few photos from our big day at the Georgia Aquarium today. We had such a blast, and I must say it was an impressive place. My favorite part was the otter exhibit...they were so cute and playful. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the adults or the kids. Thanks, Mom for taking us today!! :)

He's not even out of the womb, and I have yet another round of photos of the baby! These ultrasound images were taken Friday as I was given a good report that things are on target. He'll be 30 weeks Tuesday...my little boy's growing up so fast :)

Nursery

Just 10 weeks to go (on Tues) and we're finally getting the little guy's room put together. Many thanks to Richard for figuring out how to assemble w/out instructions or help from me! And muchas gracias to my family for donating the furniture and driving it up to Suwanee!

Blueberry Pie

I tried my hand today at making a homemade blueberry pie. It was so pretty when it came out of the oven...perfectly brown on top and smelling like perfection. I almost took a photo of it b/c I knew it would be the best thing since sliced bread. After letting it cool down a bit, I decided to try my masterpiece. I guess there's a reason the recipe recommended fresh blueberries instead of frozen :(

I'm wondering if anyone else had childhood memories of the Charles Chips delivery truck.
Forget the good ol' days of having milk and ice dropped at your front door...we had potato chips. They were delivered to our house in this cool tin each month, and I happened to see one in Cracker Barrel over the weekend (mmmm, mmmmm chicken n dumplins).

Parking Spaces

Yesterday was a momentous occasion...I met Jodi at Babies R Us to weigh the pros and cons of the million and one bottles, and I actually parked in the "Expectant Mothers Only" parking space by the front. Yes, I could have parked one space over and walked those extra 3 steps, but I was tired and frankly I'll take all the perks I can get :) I mostly just parked there b/c I thought it would be amusing.

On another note, I had Mexican for dinner, and a milkshake from Chick-fil-A. I guess that qualifies as the worst (or best b/c it was good) I've eaten since I've been pregnant.

The monkey and I went for a little adventure to the Town Center Park in Suwanee on Saturday with Sandy (thanks for the photo from your cool new phone!) There were hundreds of dogs there, and I don't think Diamond particularly enjoyed it. I was greatly amused though...mostly at seeing how much everyone treats their pets like babies, but I'm certainly not one to talk. :)

Yikes, it's been a while since my last post. Here's the quick update:

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and due Sept 24 with a baby boy!!! I had the ultrasound last Monday and everything looks good. I can't wait to meet this little guy.

And for those who are bored to tears by ultrasound photos, I also added some more amusing ones. I was going through some old boxes of photos today and came across my top 3 best snapshots ever...

So I don't know why I'm on Kroger kick today, but I happened to go to the store (perhaps motivated by their stellar ad??) a few minutes ago. As I meandered through the aisles I nearly laughed out loud at their horrible and very loud music selection. From Tina Turner to Michael Bolton, the hits just kept on spinnin'. Muzak would have been prefrred.

New Life Essentials

Well, apparently the basics have changed a bit in "these modern times" as Richard's former students loved to say.

I couldn't help but laugh at the Kroger ad pop-up on http://ajc.com/ today. Their big sale is for the following: Coke, bananas, pizza and bacon. I found that rather amusing.

Louisiana town gets rid of telephone number of the beast

Reeves, LA--It's taken 40 years, but this southwest Louisiana village no longer bears the mark of the beast.

Beginning this month, residents and businesses can change the first three digits of their phone numbers from 666--depicted in the Bible as the mark of the beast--to 749.

Mayor Scott Walker said one of the biggest hangups he's had both as mayor and as a lifelong resident of Reeves, is the reaction he's gotten when giving people his number. He describes it as a pause, followed by the admonition: "Y'all have to change that."

I am clearly grasping for distractions today if I am creating a blog. Richard will be so proud when he sees what I've done! I may send out a link to this lame-o blog, but I'm not sure yet. I don't feel particularly pithy in my comments, but I guess a girl's gotta start somewhere. Here are the technology updates to my life in 2007:

Posted a webphoto album
Installed a scanner on my laptop (and learned how to e-fax)
Using my laptop for something other than email
Started a blog
Bought a new phone (just a Samsung, don't get excited)

I guess that captures it, but these are giant leaps for me. Let's see, Richard's technology updates include...well, I won't even go there :)
